Here you have the magnificent nature of Jotunheimen right outside your door. Krossbu is the perfect starting point for summit hikes in Sm\u00f8rstabbtindan, glacier hiking on Sm\u00f8rstabbreen, mountain hikes on marked trails, fishing in crystal-clear mountain lakes and cross-country skiing in unique high mountain terrain. Experience true mountain joy all year round &#8211; on foot, on skis or with experienced, local guides.   <\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tSognefjellsvegen\t<\/h2>\n<h3>\n\t\t\tA Journey Through Majestic High-Mountain Scenery\t<\/h3>\n\t<p>Sognefjellsvegen (County Road 55) is Northern Europe&#8217;s highest mountain pass and one of Norway&#8217;s most spectacular scenic routes. The road stretches between Lom in the east and Gaupne in the west, taking you through dramatic high-mountain landscapes with views of majestic peaks and glaciers.<br \/>Traveling along Sognefjellsvegen offers panoramic views of Jotunheimen and Breheimen, including iconic mountain areas such as Sm\u00f8rstabbtindan, Hurrungane, and Fannar\u00e5ken.  <\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tPractical information\t<\/h2>\n\t<p><strong>Parking: <\/strong>You can drive all the way to the lodge. Parking is available on site. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Road Access: <\/strong>The road from Lom to Krossbu is open from Easter. The mountain road across Sognefjellet (east-west) usually opens around May 1.<br \/> For updated road information, please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vegvesen.no\/trafikk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">175.no<\/a> and search for Sognefjellsvegen.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>Public Transport: <\/strong>Bus services operate from 20. approximately June 20 to 20. Originally named Krossboden, later Krossh\u00f8 Hotel, the lodge was built and operated by Nils T.
