Sokse

Sokse is one of the most alpine peaks in Smørstabbtindane, easily accessible from Krossbu Turisthytte. It towers high between Kniven and Storebjørn, and is a favorite destination for many.

The trip often requires crossing the Leirbrean glacier, and the area offers demanding, alpine conditions where crampons and ice axes are recommended, as well as good downhill skiing opportunities.

Highest point: 2189 masl

Difficulty: Demanding (glacier and airy peak)

Season: Summer (July–September) / Spring ski trip (April–June)

Hike that requires glacier equipment and knowledge – possibly a guide.

It is recommended to assess the avalanche danger and check the conditions carefully before the trip, as this is an alpine route.
