Fannaråken (via Glacier)
Glacier guiding from Krossbu to Fannaråken is a safe and wonderful trip with an experienced glacier guide. Along the way, ropes, crampons and ice axes are used where necessary, and cracks and road conditions are taken into account. The trip provides a safe and educational experience of the glacier and high mountains to the top of Fannaråken.
The glacier crossing to Fannaråken is organized by the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT). The tour starts at Krossbu, where you hike independently to the edge of the glacier (approx. 2.5 hours). The guided glacier crossing begins at 13:00 and takes about 2 hours, accompanied by an experienced glacier guide.
If you wish to return via the glacier and hike back to Krossbu, you can join the guide on the return crossing the following morning after an overnight stay at Fannaråkhytta. It is also possible to descend independently to Turtagrø.
A place on the rope team must be pre-booked with Fannaråkhytta, no later than the evening before. This also applies to the return glacier crossing the following day.
