Blue Ice Experience Tour

This is an easy and family-friendly glacier tour, suitable for both children and adults. A day on the blue ice offers a unique experience with ice caves, tunnels, crevasses, and ice towers – and insight into how the glacier has shaped the landscape over thousands of years.

  • Meeting point: No later than 10:30 AM at Krossbu

  • Departure: 11:00 AM 11.00

  • Duration: Approx. 5–6 hours

  • Start and finish: Krossbu

  • Cabin type: Selfcatering (DNT)

Prices

  • Children (6–12 years): NOK 1,100
  • Adults: NOK 1,300
  • Minimum 5 participants required for the tour to run.
  • Private guide for groups of 2–5 people: NOK 6,500 per tour

  • Loan of glacier equipment

For a safe and enjoyable experience, proper clothing and equipment are essential. We recommend bringing:

  • Daypack (with space to attach an ice axe and crampons)
  • Warm clothing: wool base layers, windproof and waterproof outer layers
  • Warm wool sweater or down jacket for breaks
  • Warm mittens and a hat
  • Sturdy mountain hiking boots
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
    Packed lunch, hot and cold drinks, and preferably some chocolate or snacks for the trip
