Krossbu Tourist Lodge, founded in 1901, is one of Norway’s oldest mountain lodges, idyllically located along Sognefjellsvegen – Northern Europe’s highest mountain pass. The lodge is an ideal starting point for summit hikes in the Smørstabbtindan range, glacier walks on Smørstabbreen, gentle hikes along marked trails, fishing trips to mountain lakes, and cross-country skiing on Sognefjellet. Here, you can experience Jotunheimen in every season – on foot, on skis, or accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide. Welcome to the mountains!

The Northern Lights at Krossbu
At Krossbu, you can experience the Northern Lights both in early spring and in autumn. Watching the green lights dance across the mountain sky is a truly magical experience. With very little light pollution, the high mountains offer crystal-clear starry skies, and evening walks in the area provide excellent conditions for viewing both the Northern Lights and the stars. Up here, the natural experience is just as powerful after sunset as it is during the day.
